– ifm’s new O3M AI collision warning system for mobile machines combines 2D and 3D technology in a single system. Powered by a high-performance processor, 2D and 3D sensor data can be processed directly in the O3M sensor, including data fusion. This also involves performing a plausibility check on the AI-assisted person detection and comparing it with the environmental information from the 3D sensor. The result is excellent detection performance, unrivalled in rear and area monitoring. The risk of misinterpretation is reduced, while safety is increased because people, obstacles and distances can be detected at the same time and with greater accuracy than ever before.
