Information

HazardAVERT is an electromagnetic detection technology that creates safety zones around equipment, highlighting areas that may be potentially dangerous for people and/or vehicles to enter. When zones are breached, audible and visual warning alarms alert all parties involved simultaneously. HazardAVERT enhances the equipment operator’s ability to see and understand potential hazards in close proximity before an incident occurs, and the technology has the ability to automatically take action to prevent accidents, including completely stopping equipment without human intervention.
STRATA WORLDWIDEL36Strata Worldwide is a reputable company in the global mining and tunnelling industries and is known largely for offering state-of-the-art safety technologies. These technologies are designed to increase the safety of people working around large, mobile equipment and machinery. Now expanding into the maritime sector, Strata is bringing its proven technologies to operations at maritime container ports. Strata’s safety systems are intelligent technologies designed to enhance safety awareness and detect potential danger while people are working in and around machinery. The systems provide early warning alerts and can take autonomous preventative action to prevent accidents. Strata's proximity detection and collision avoidance systems can be installed on any equipment of any size and type, and can be interfaced into the controls to automatically slow and stop equipment when needed. To date, the systems have been successfully installed on RTGs, reach stackers, and forklifts. At TOC Europe 2024, Strata will be showcasing three of its safety technologies: • Artificial intelligence machine vision systems with edge computing. These “cameras” installed on equipment, detect people and vehicles in close proximity and in the equipment's path of travel. It measures the distance to the object and determines the potential of collision. • Artificial intelligence vision sensor systems installed on buildings and other structures create safety exclusion zones, i.e. areas identified as potentially dangerous for pedestrians to enter. • Strata's electromagnetic proximity detection systems work by generating electromagnetic safety zones around mobile machinery and are detected by receiver tags worn by personnel and installed on vehicles. The system alerts when the safety zones around machinery are breached and can be programmed to automatically stop.
